Blue Jackets Going to Playoffs For the First Time
It’s no surprise here, we’ve been loyal Columbus Blue Jackets supporters since the season opened. Okay, since Steve Mason got the call-up. Despite a eerily striking resemblance to Paul Bearer, Ken Hitchcock has really got his shit together. Sure, his defensive system could put a cougar to sleep in a nightclub full of jocks, but it works. It’s worked to some degree everywhere he has coached in the NHL, and now it’s working in Columbus.
Rick Nash is going to be a treat to watch in the playoffs, and how about this: there’s a chance that the Jackets could face Vancouver in the opening round. Steve Mason going to head-to-head with Roberto Luongo could make for one of the best goaltending duels in recent memory. If that match-up is to take place I will go out on a limb to say that the winner will represent the Western Conference in the Stanley Cup Final. I’m not kidding.
Go Jackets, go Canucks, fuck Detroit, it’s almost playoff time fuckers!
