Sim, Islanders On A Little Roll: GM Hopes To Derail

Who was the First Star in the Islander’s 4-2 victory over the Avalanche last night?  Oh that’s right, Jon “Fuckin” Sim was.   The Islanders are terrible, we won’t argue about that, but Sim has 7 points in his last 6 games including 3 assists in last night’s game.  The reckless winger has scored at every level he’s played, and if the Isles weren’t so intent on tanking this season then a betting man might say Sim would see more ice-time.

That’s two straight wins for the Islanders, which was hardly the plan after a lopsided deal that sent Mike Comrie and Chris Campoli to Ottawa.  They’re still on target for the services of Tavares, and I’m sure Garth Snow and Charles Wang will find a way to keep losing.

On Tonight:

The Flyers will look to avoid a third straight loss Tuesday night when they face the Bruins in Beantown.  The Vancouver Canucks seek to win for the 11th time in 13 games as they play host to their Northwest Division rival Minnesota Wild.
