It wasn’t pretty, but it was a record-setting night for Calgary’s Jarome Iginla.  Iggy passed Theoren Fleury on Flames’ all-time scoring list by scoring two goals and assisting on three others.  Iginla’s effort wouldn’t be enough as the Flames fell by a score of 8-6 to Tampa Bay.

Mark Recchi had a pretty big night himself, helping out with five assists while Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis each scored twice for the Bolts.  Despite the sloppy loss Iginla remained positive about his accomplishment:

Unfortunately the night didn’t go the way we wanted, we let it get away from us. Looking back on it down the road, it’s still going to be a great night.”

Brodeur Is Pretty Good:

This was supposed to be a record-setting season for Martin Brodeur, those plans looked derailed when he went on the shelf for four months with elbow surgery.  Brodeur shut the door for the second time in three games since his return to action, blanking the Flyers 3-0 by making 27 saves.  Brodeur needs three more shutouts to tie Terry Sawchuk’s career mark of 103.  Yesterday’s win gives him 547 for his career, four shy of Patrick Roy’s league record, although Brodeur will never match Roy for career assholeness.
