Toronto Maple Leafs Building Front-Office Dream Team
First Brian Burke is reunited with his college buddy and Leafs head coach, Ron Wilson. Now, as reported by TSN.ca, he has wasted little time in snatching up his good friend and understudy; Dave Nonis. Nonis, who took over as GM for Burke in Vancouver was named senior vice-president of hockey operations on Saturday. Nonis was the man who brought Roberto Luongo to Vancouver, then got canned after he couldn’t clean up Burke’s mess. Looking pretty good in Van-City now.
If you haven’t caught wind of this little freebie, then you best check it out. Watch live NHL hockey on your desktop.
Pittsburgh heads to Ottawa today you can expect Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin to continue their offensive onslaught. Washington rolls into Toronto, I’m expecting the Leafs’ woes to continue. Brian Burke will put a hold on roster moves as of December 9th, some unlucky Leafs will likely be playing for a shot to stick around with the team.
The marquee match-up of the night has got to be Chicago vs. Detroit. The largely North American youth of the Blackhawks up against the culturally balanced and ageless Red Wings. Fingers crossed for a Chicago/Pittsburgh Stanley Cup Final.
Out. More tomorrow.
